Slalom Ski Course

The slalom course on the river

I Dave would personally like to thank the members for their contributions and commitment in keeping our course in great shape. This year we anticipate a unanimous consensus for the date of the tournament so as to increase this year's participation.

I thank all of this year's new members for their contributions, ironically though there are less this year contributing. This will have an effect on the competition this year.

To the members of the course named ‘Power Line Course Cove’ — I have found that when inflating buoys use Vaseline on the stems. This helps seal the valve when the needle is removed.

For members needing course “repair kits” and instructions please stop by Gonyea's Marine Service, the location is on the back of your membership card. This card has a number on the back, “important #”. This year and for the next two years the course is licensed with the Oregon State Marine Board. This has its advantages: See Regulation 830.365-6.

  1. You may elect not to have a human spotter to observe the skier while in the course. Ballast is recommended to keep the boat level though.
  2. A warning flag is not mandatory in the course, as long as the skier maintains engagement to tow line.

I have maps of the course and the state regulations regarding authorized courses, a contributing membership card with official permit number, and a liability form and questionnaire to be filled out and mailed back to Gonyea's Marine Service as soon as possible.

Thanks again and I will see you on the course.

David C. Gonyea
